ARTE Y PARTE - Art & Part

Presente continuo.

These paintings are pieces of time captured in a continuous present, however is not linear time but a loosed time.
My own life and experiences mixed with my readings and thoughts are the subjet but my canvas wants to represent the universal and ordinary life. At last they are overall "painting".

Poema 25/07:
En mi infancia habia un río
ahora un mar entretenido,
el río fluía hacia un destino
el mar, presente continuo,
se mece azul sin objetivo.

When I was a child there was a river
now an entertaining sea,
the river flows to a destiny
the sea, continuous present,
it swings blue without objective.

Camaleones Chameleons

My photographic works try to capture a second of life and make it continuous present, however the life I take is not real life but a fragile reflection of it. Like it happens in the wishes or the memories the landscapes and figures appear mixed, blurred in a mimetic game that tries to be real.

I call my pictures Chameleons because the chameleon changes its skin by imitation of reality in order to be the same than the rest of the world around, as soon as it sees a new reality it slams a new skin. The camouflage (illusion) is even better than the real thing, a new skin appears and disappears but the animal is always the same.
